I booked a room in Dubai. They have some amazing hotels. This is where I'm staying.
I will stay one night here before flying to Kabul. Leah and I will explore Dubai when we come back through on our way to Kenya.

The Journey
This blog chronicles my trip to Afghanistan and Kenya during July and August of 2008. The purpose of my trip is to visit my sister, Leah April, who has been working in Kabul for three years. Over the years, she has lived and worked in Kazakhstan, Estonia, and Turkey.
I have always wanted to follow in her footsteps to see the work she is doing so far away from home, but alas I never made it. Traveling to Kabul is my opportunity to witness the contributions that Leah and her colleagues are making to the people of Afghanistan.
Dedication
This blog is dedicated to Norman G. April (1927-2007). Dad dedicated his life to foreign service and was very proud of the work Leah is doing abroad.
